My total cost for the project: ~$55 (including hardware/plastic + high pass filters)
The files shown here are all the files needed to complete a Right and Left line array tower speaker. you will need 16 of the oval speakers in the link below and 12 of the tweeters in the link below. (I would buy 3-4 extra of each, as I had 2 DOA, (there's a reason these are sub $.40 speakers.))
print 1 each of left/right parts
print 2 top / bottom rear plates
print 2 bases
print 32 washers
Hardware:
32 - m4 x 10 - (used to tie speaker in) (will also need 32 of the printed washers)
40 - M3 x10 - Used for attaching the rear cover
12-20 ft of speaker wire
crimp ends or solder/ solder iron for connections
Hot glue to mount tweeters (they have no gasket, and the mounting holes don't line up.)
2ft - 19mm(3/4") OD Aluminum tube - cut into 8 - 2.5" sections
Something to add mass to base for stability(self level concrete, resin, clay, etc...)
Optional - 1:
4 - M5 x 25 (used as rear speaker posts
12 - M5 nuts for studs
- or -
Other speaker terminals - (have to drill holes regardless)
Optional - 2:
Sealant for rear cover (blu-tac, silicone, hot glue etc...)
Optional -3:
5K high pass filter (need 2 for tweeter channels- can sound harsh without, but will work regardless)
Wiring:
wire the 6 tweeters in parallel in each tower.
Wire the oval speakers in each tower to 8 OHM - 4 pairs wired in series then parallel wire the 4 pairs.
keep the Amp channels <40w
(check out my video for more detail)
