PS2 Controller Addon DIY Gamepad

This is an addon for a ps2 controller.

With this printed mount you can use these controllers for whatever you want. The ps2 controller is now a few years old but still a great controller with lots of buttons and stuff.

For example:

• control your rc-cars, robots or other projects wirelessly via wifi or bluetooth
• use it to play games like the gamebuino projekt or the arduboy projekt
• spend days, weeks or even month to get this thing working ;)

The printed addon part is for:

• holding the 18650 Batterie Shield to power the board
• holding a 128 x 64 Pixels Oled display to show things
• to hide the cables going inside the controller

In the controller there are:

• WEMOS D1 Mini ESP8266 Wifi Chip as brain of this whole thing
• hc-05 bluetooth chip for bluetooth support
• small smd speaker thing to make some noises
• GY-521 gyroskop chip for measuring acceleration and orientation
• a about 15cm long standart micro usb cable to upload new code or debug

Note: To fit all of this inside the controller I had to remove the dualShock motors. But they would not work anyway because the 5 volts from the battery shield are to less. So vibration is not possilbe anymore.

The most important software is the great PS2X_lib by bill porter. With it you can real all the analog and digital values from your ps2 controller.
