Description
Problem:
I needed a way to organize my office battery drawers in a way where I could easily see number of batteries in a sized container. I needed to have access to the head and tail ends of the battery to take measurements with the multimeter. And because I have a 3yr-old son who is in everything, a way to fasten the containers closed so the batteries stay organized in their containers for longer than 5 minutes.
Solution:
Custom sized battery holders in the 4 common sizes. AA, AAA, C, and D. in common battery unit quantities.
Ends of the containers have peg and hole system for closing alignment.
Ends of the containers have appropriate tapered holes to accept optional 6-32 threaded heat inserts put in by soldering iron.
Print 2 containers at a time if wanting a closed container, Print 1 if just wanting a tray.
Print 2x of the StackingPin file to get tapered pins that fit the outside holes to allow containers to be stacked without sliding around.
Additional Hardware - This is optional to others who don't want to fasten the containers closed, but essential for me to keep out my toddler.
Use 6-32 Round Head Machine Screws(1/2" long for AA and AAA. 1" long for C and D).
Use 6-32 threaded heat inserts for plastic put in by any cheap soldering iron.
The heat inserts I had on hand that are pretty inexpensive and avoid having to use any loose nuts are from McMaster-Carr.
Here is the link for the heat inserts I used:

NOTES:
The design was made in Autodesk Inventor in INCH format. If your slicer imports the model very small, it is most likely importing in as metric by default. You will need to scale up 25.4 times to get the same scale in Inches.
