Description

Pattern Blocks: They are frequently used in K-5 math classes for students to explore shapes and their interconnections, make art projects, and build a foundation for other concepts such as fractions. While they are easy to design one by one, it is slightly challenging to get all of them from a hexagon (and eventually get to a 12-gon or even bigger structure). It is an interesting entry-point 3D design project for students to learn about sketching and constraints.

The all-in-one design fits a 140 x 140 platform; the square therein has a side length of 12mm and a thickness of 4mm. If you have a large bed, please scale up 200% for a regular set of pattern blocks.

The individual pieces are built with reference to a square that is 20mm x 20mm x 8mm. Have fun!
