Description

Was finding it really hard to visualize the layer height during setup of my prints, so I designed this little sample holder. Each sphere has a diameter of 25mm and text to show the layer height. I picked a sphere because it helps show the quality of the print at every angle of overhang over the build plate, as well as the top layer transition layers.

If not already clear, print each sphere separately at the layer heights:

0.3mm
0.25mm
0.2mm
0.15m
0.1mm
0.07mm
0.05mm

The sample holder was printed at 0.1mm layer height.

Once printed, the spheres can be pressed into the sample holder forcefully. By carefully flexing the holder, the spheres can be pressed in. Using a plastic jawed clamp really made it easy.
