I liked the concept of these other teaching clocks, but the parts were too small and weak. I kept breaking them while trying to assemble them.
Everything is held together with #6 flat head sheet metal screws.

When assembling make sure that the gear in the base housing has one tooth pointing up (at 12) and two teeth pointing down (at 6). Then attach the arm and both hands pointing up (at 12).
Things that still need improving:
There is a lot of play in the gears. I might try fattening up the 8 tooth gears more and see what happens.
The drive shaft is too wobbly.
The arm (and minute hand) are not balanced, so they don't stay put when you hold the clock up.
