Educational Analog Clock
Update: Tried the clocks with some kids; they wanted the hands to be tight. So I added the tight version for the hands.
It is time to talk about “time” in mathematics, using the educational clock model with three hands. By default, the clock measures 120 mm in diameter. The three hands can be easily snapped on or off. There are two versions for the hands (loose and tight).
Of course, this is not a “working” clock, in the sense that the hands are NOT mechanically related to each other. Then, there are some advantages, too, especially when we want to think proportionally about the clock dial.
For example, how should we position the three hands so that it reads “3:45” ? What might be a wrong way to position the three hands?
