Descrição

Live your dream of disappearing in the Canadian Far North:

The HMS Terror in her final 1845 configuration

Two versions of the hull are included - one with flat sides (that can be painted to simulate wood planking), and a version with the iron plating, added prior to the Northwest Passage expedition. Alternatively, you could cut the plates out of aluminum cans. That would look better while also being kinda ironic.

The rudder is designed to be fixed with a wire hinge, inserted into the hull slot before joining -as well as two alignment blocks to keep things square.

Optional parts include the two styles of ship's boat, barrels, and basic davits that can be installed along the aft gunwales.

Rigging and sails are obviously not printable, so regular model ship building techniques should be applied. Ocre has their own model manual online which seems to be the best reference for the above. For everything else, Mathew Bett's exceptional “Building Terror” blog is a fantastic resource.

Finally, there's a single manifold error on “terror_iron_bow”, but it's tiny enough that I can neither find it, nor is it causing any issues in slicing/printing.

[edit 18/03 - Higher poly hull added]

[edit - 21/03: added hull variants sliced for flat printing/horizontal layer lines]
