Description
A Parallel guide for the FERM PRM1015 router.
There are two versions of the fixed block upper and lower part (klemblok_boven and _under). One makes use of a printed disk, the other uses a ball bearing which provides for smoother operation at the risk of more axial play, depending on the quality of the bearing of course.
The design is not suited for milling circles. When needed, modify it, e.g. add a chamfer to the two baseplate bolt holes to support flathead bolts. Add a center jig, see also the original thing.
The adjustment thread used is ISO M6 with 1mm pitch, so a full turn of the knob results in a 1mm displacement. When using a 608 bearing a 6 to 8mm bushing is needed. You can adjust the design yourself. E.g. if you want to use a 606 bearing.
As the M6 thread has some play (in the fixed nut) always make the last turn of the knob counterclockwise to take the backlash out.
Idea: print a mm scale (e.g. generated with the InkScape ScaleGenerator extension). Seal it in plastic and fit it between the bottom plate and the fixed block.
Parts:
6x 25mm M5 bolt hex cap;
2x 35mm M5 bolt;
2x 25mm M5 bolt flat head;
10x M5 nut;
2x 35cm 8mm diameter rod;
10cm M6 threaded rod;
5x M6 nut;
608 bearing, preferably shielded (ZZ) or, even better, sealed (2RS) for keeping out dust.
Dependencies:
The knurled finish library (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9095) is used in the knurled knob OpenSCAD file.
