Description
Pretty standard toolmakers clamp. This was designed to be used with 1/4-20 threaded rod with 1/4-20 nuts. A 1/8" wide groove will need to be turned or filed down to about a 1/6" diameter, into the top jaw threaded rod to accommodate the flat plate that retains the rod and prevents it from coming free. Using a metal lathe will work best for cutting the groove, but the threaded rod can be chucked into a drill or drill press and filed in manually with little difficulty. A 1/4-20 x 1/2" bolt will be needed to attach the flat plate to the top jaw. All 1/4 20 nuts need to be glued or epoxied into the jaws and allowed to dry/set before assembly. The knurled ends will also need to be glued or epoxied on to the ends of the threaded rods. See the photos for detailed assembly drawings.
