Description
Pegboard spacer to mount a pegboard to the wall. They should be placed approximately 30cm (~12") apart.
The spacer has an outside diameter of 17mm (~2/3"), the height is 17mm, and the inside diameter is 6mm (~1/4").
The pictures show a slightly larger outside diameter than the actual thing since they didn't need to be so large.
How to install: You may know a better way but this is what I did it and it worked well.
First mark an X every 12 holes by drawing a line between four holes starting with the first row, working across, then down. For the boards you see in the photos each one uses 15 spacers. The idea is to drill holes in-between the existing holes so you don't use any of them for mounting.
Position the board where it is to be mounted and drill in one screw over an X. Then use a level to make sure it's straight and drill in a second screw over an X on the other side. Now that the board is somewhat secure drill a hole over every X on the board.
Remove the pegboard and change the drill bit to the size of your drywall anchors and re-drill each hole. Then insert the drywall anchors into the holes.
With a hot gluegun, apply a small amount of glue to one side of a spacer and get some over the hole so the screw is held in place. Place each screw through the front of the pegboard and stick the spacer onto the back so it's held in place along with the screw. Repeat for all your spacers.
Finally, line up the screws with the drywall anchors and screw each one in partially until they are all fitted into their respective holes. Then tighten them down fully.
If installing more than one board, use an existing pegboard hook to make sure the distance between the holes of adjoining boards are the proper distance and aligned evenly. Make sure to mark the edges so you remember which way they're oriented.
Good luck and enjoy your new pegboard!
