Description

ESP01 Pogo Programmer

First off: I know this is a super basic part, I just couldn't find any equivalent already around so I thought I may as well save someone 5 mins in Fusion.

Personally I love using little ESP01 boards to control a myriad of things around the house. I know some people prefer bare ESP boards but I find that the ESP01 has everything ready for anything I want to do.

I've been in the habit recently of cutting off pins on ESP01 boards... I know its a bad habit; in process of seeking help...
Due to this its becoming difficult to reprogram them if the OTA fails. Difficult is a byword for laziness in this case. ;) I know I could just solder some wire to the program pins, but who wants to do that 6 feet up a ladder...

I decided to design a small object that would sit on-top or behind of the board with Pogo pins poking out, this would allow me to just press the board up to the programmer, and woohay, 5 minutes of time saved soldering and 2 hours of time wasted creating the programmer. That's a win in my book!

The programmer uses tiny pogo-pins, any pin with a diameter of 1mm 'should' work. Keep in mind most printers will have a hard time printing such small holes so you may have to enlarge it a bit with a needle or 1mm drill bit.

The exact listing for the pogo-pins has been removed but the title was as below:
"50pcs P75-B1 Dia 1.02mm 100g Cusp Spear Spring Loaded Test Probes Pogo Pinsv"

There are other listings elsewhere though such as AliExpress, This product should be the same: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32866993106.html

To create usable pins on the programmer I cut up some male dupont connectors and soldered them onto the pogo-pins. This can be seen in some of the provided pictures.

Side note: The STP file is provided for anyone who needs to make changes.
