Description
I have a large set of Craftsman sockets (308 piece set #35831).
I wanted holders to keep them from rolling around in my tool box. Each of the trays were fit to my sockets, so hopefully the manufactured diameter is consistent and will fit yours too. This set of trays should hold all of your SAE and Metric 1/2" and 3/8" deep sockets, both 6 point and 12 point (and some 8 point). I will be adding trays as time permits to complete the set.
I used a permanent marker to paint the raised numbers and make them easier to see.
You can lift each tray of sockets out of your tool box by gently squeezing a couple of the sockets together and lifting. Friction holds the gripped sockets to the tray and they can be lifted out as a group.
UPDATE 10-31-2020: I added the missing trays for 1/2" Drive sockets and the missing trays for 3/8" drive sockets. This should make the set complete for 3/8" and 1/2" drive sockets. Also, I added a little clearance to the original trays to help make sure that they fit well even if printed with a low quality printer. The old files have been removed and the updated clearance files have been uploaded using the same names. If you downloaded prior to 11-1-2020, I urge you to check the file dates and get the new versions.
UPDATE 11-10-2020:
I was inspired by the number of downloads and decided to finish the set. I have added the 1/4" drive socket trays.
I also added some "Bonus" trays that are useful in my toolbox, maybe useful to you as well
