Description
Remix details:
- I used the Lenbok Redox-rev0b fork of the case as a starting point, removed all the ports within OpenSCAD and made my changes in Fusion360
- https://github.com/Lenbok/scad-keyboard-cases/tree/master/redox-rev0b
The differences are:
- a micro-usb -> usb-c converting cables instead of a breakout board.
- a trrs jack for connecting the 2 boards
- different reset switches
- I increased the height of the base to support the trrs jack
- Increased the top's base to remove possible interference between trrs jack and the switches legs and/or wires
Printing notes:
I recommend a brim on this print as the large base is prone to warping/peeling from the bed at the corners.
I printed with a 0.12mm layer height to have a smoother look without post processing.
However my layer adhesion was not strong enough for the screw posts and they sheered off. [I ended up having to super glue some brass inserts in to replace the posts as I had already permanently attached items to the base.]
I recommend either redesigning to the posts to use brass inserts or running a few tests to make sure your layer adhesion is good with your filament and machine settings.- I used a high infill value to try to give the keyboard some heft and because the thin walls of the print it did not impact the print time too much.
Build notes:
- See the original project by MattDB for the wiring guide and his build log.
Also follow his parts list but swap out the following parts
- usb cable: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VBV1PY5
- trrs jack: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XG3YTC4
- reset switch: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/product/B07X8S99RH
-Note that I messed up in the orientation of some of the switches. Make sure that they are oriented in a way to allow standard keycaps to fit.
