Hiking Thermometer Case

I wanted something I could take on holidays for knowing exactly how hot it was each day.

Couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, but found a thermometer that was small and cheap, only trouble was it was designed for reptile tanks.

I started designing a case, then had a quick look and found a stand. It wasn't quite right, but it did do the tricky bit of holding the thermometer. I have to say it's an absolutely top notch design, very nice twist-lock mechanism.

So, I cut off the legs and added a ring and that's it. It's quite a simple loop, but it's nice and strong. It's big enough to take a reasobly sized carabiner, which is what I wanted.

There's a choice of ring direction, depending on what you want to hang it from so it always lies flat.
