Description

ADDED .step file for Iron Holder for customisation.
ADDED 3MF FILES**

This design is a simplified version of the press I use on a daily basis and can be printed in regular PLA.
The top assembly is complicated but it’s worth the assembly effort.
When you release the soldering Iron it will rise on its own and come to a gentle stop.

The Base Extension is optional but is adjustable so adds more versatility.

All Parts are in correct orientation for printing.

The Base for the top assembly should be printed with support.

Print the Rear Carriage and Weight with 99% infill so they are as heavy as possible. Choosing 100% infill will significantly increase print time on slower machines as infill is printed faster than inner and outer walls.

EDIT:
I recommend printing with PLA+ as it’s stronger than regular PLA but still affordable.
The base is best printed with high infill as the weight will give the whole model more stability.
I print the base at 99 infill, however this uses approximately 400g of filament so it is your choice.

The belt clips are best printed on their sides with support to give the printed part more strength.

ADDITIONAL HARDWARE.
M3 countersunk screws 8-10mm
M4 Socket Cap screws 8-10mm
M4 Washers
M4 T-Nuts
3x Standard Bearings 8x22x7, also known as skateboard bearings.
Soldering Iron + optional heat set tips.
3D Printer Timing Belt. (Any generic will do, I have used one from an ender 3)
2040 aluminium profile 300mm
V Slot Wheels
Blue Threadlock (optional)

After assembly adjust screws in front and rear carriage wheels to dial in the rate of return.

Print the top part of the base extension as well as the extension locators and carriage stops in 95A TPU for best results.

The original “Deluxe” Version is now available on 3dCults.
It functions the same as this free version. The differences are aesthetic only.
It does however look great! Especially if you print the face plates with a textured PEI bed.

  • As Requested, the Phoenix Logo cutout is now available as an option to print.
    This is designed to sit underneath the TPU cover on the base extension which also has a cutout.
