Motion study/experiments

We’ve been experimenting with mechanical motions borrowed from braiding machines and figured out a way to lasercut and assemble a hand-cranked version.

There are “boats” that are carried through a track by a disc attached to intersecting gears, making them go around in an extended 8-shape pattern.

It’s not really done yet, tweaking and expanding still remains - feel free to do so. But we think the hardest part is solved, figuring out the pathing and “behaviour” of the boats.
